The owner of Matt and Tony's All Day Kitchen + Bar is seeking city approval to open a new restaurant called Little Birdie across the street, filing an administrative special use permit application Feb. 2 for the space at 1504 B Mount Vernon Ave. that has sat empty since Benny DiForza's Pizza closed last fall.
Matthew Sloan, managing member of Table 52 Hospitality LLC, also owns Matt and Tony's at 1501 Mount Vernon Ave. The property at 1504 B is commercially zoned and owned by the Estate of Michael M. Hadeed. The application is pending with the city's Department of Planning and Zoning, with no public comment deadline listed yet.
